The passenger ship Nova (»nova« means »new«) is really new! Built in 2013, it has since enriched our offer with a higher standard and new entertainment experiences.
Nova and its crew are at your disposal throughout the year, even when the weather is rather miserable.
NOVA is an 18-metre-long passenger vessel built in 2013 in the Italian shipyard Cantiere Navale Polesano and made of a special steel used in shipbuilding.
Having successfully submitted our bid in response to the call for tenders »Diversification and Restructuring of the Fisheries Sector«, we obtained EU funding that allowed us to build the Nova ship which is right now the most modern passenger vessel registered in Slovenia.
Nova is propelled by two Iveco 279 kW engines and a bow thruster. There is also a 10kW Lombardini power generator (220V) in the engine room.
The ship is certified to carry up to 90 passengers. There is a comfortable air-conditioned saloon on the deck capable of accommodating 45 passengers. Besides the ship boasts two open spaces: the one situated at the back of the vessel is roofed, the other, located on the terrace, is fitted out with a movable sun shelter. Bathers aren't neglected either as there is a platform on the stern fitted with a ladder that facilitates entry into and/or exit from the water. Boarding as well as the large bathrooms are adapted for disabled persons in wheelchairs too.
Nova is moored at the Izola fishermen's pier but, if requested, passengers can be embarked in any other port on the Slovenian coast (Ankaran, Koper, Strunjan, Piran, Bernardin and Portorož, in addition to Izola, of course).
